What if Bugatti Veyron makes love with VW Beetle?

Bugatti Beetle,

While there are many creative people across the globe who always strive hard to create something different, but their imaginations aren’t always as cool as the one pictured above. The digital renderings from creative souls at RC82 Workchop who often come with such things, the above concept is from Polish artist(s) and it looks cool,  isn’t it?

If you ever thought what will come out if Bugatti Veyron will make love to VW Beetle, just examine the image minutely and you will get the answer. The artists have taken a lot of care before blending design cues of original Volkswagen Beetle with Bugatti Veyron. It seems that artists just want to show the relation of two legendry cars with its maker.

What otherwise seems to be a funny creation but the classic Beetle parts ranging from deep-dish steel wheels to bug eyes, window frames and exterior door hinges incorporated in Bugatti Veyron hypercar makes it an imagination with difference. However, I am really confused what should I call it. If you have a better name, please feel free to suggest it in the comments.

BMW sketches weird 4219 Eli car to four-year-old’s specification

weird 4219 Eli car

If you think you will fantasy any car and an automaker as great as Bavarian Motor Works will take fatigue to sketch it accordingly, you are right. Well, the story started on Jalopnik where a reader asked if it’s possible to sketch the concept image of a car to his budding enthusiast nephew who just narrated his fantasy car to him. BMW responded positively.

The four years old nephew of the reader, Eli, fantasized a BMW with 42-wheel drive and 19 Porsche engines generating 459 bhp each. The huge car will be controlled by three drivers who can steer it simultaneously and it should have huge toy trunk with air vents and a huge space inside to play. Other details include that it should feature water-cooled turbocharged engines from boxer 6 mated to a single transmission.

What BMW came up with isn’t the exact presentation of what Eli proposed but what’s commendable is the fact that BMW kept the promise made on Tumbler to sketch the car named 4219 Eli, which also includes the name of the reader’s nephew. The concept behemoth was revealed on BMW USA’s Facebook page and we assume that Porsche powertrain couldn’t be placed in it but it still include the air vents for the trunk to ensure some fresh air for the toys. Also, it’s highly unlikely that BMW will ever put this on the market.

V-Tent solar powered parking space 5

One of the major reasons why electric cars haven’t gained ground so far even after their advent in the last decades of 19th century is their operating range. Secondly, the unavailability of charging stations also averts users to buy electric cars. These reasons leave buyers in a suspicion whether or not they will drive their cars back home. The automakers across the globe are trying their level best to develop batteries but they couldn’t boast a great breakthrough in the field other than claiming it weighs less, lasts longer and charges quickly.

Along with automakers, the designers across the globe are also focusing on developing the innovative and environment friendly ways to reduce the gravity of the situation. One of them is Hakan Gursu from the Turkish design studio Nobis who has come up with V-Tent concept which is an innovative canopy that harvests solar energy to charge your electric car.

Designed in the form of a canopy, the V-Tenet is an eco friendly parking system that not only provides a safe place for your electric car but also charges it too. V-Tent can be set at your home or in the city. While in the city, it will rid the electric vehicle owner of the parking woes and will nullify the worries of it to run out of juice midway. The parking space is a space saving charging station with a space to park car and then pull over the folding canopy that also protects it from the environmental hazards.

V-Tent uses flexible solar cells that are fixed to a laminated multi-layered textile with micro ventilation tubes to protect canopy from overheating. Apart from this, it also has band light that indicates charge percentage and availability with color and length.  All the users need to do is to select the amount of time for parking and pay the parking as well as charging fee by card.

Hyungjin Kim Audi O2 concept

We have had already introduced you with Audi concepts in the past, the one here in question, however, is something different and unusual to what we usually come across. While this one is to attract you for sure as it has parts and details that are uncommon to even modern vehicles, and we assume something like this won’t make it to the auto market at least in the next 50 years.

The concept is called Audi O2. The brainchild of Hyungjin Kim who is the design student at Hong-ik University, Audi O2 is presented as a project for 2012. The reason why we called it a different and unusual concept is it is equipped with a jet engine to provide it an immense power on the road. The designer also states that the concept will give the driver a chance to relax the power plant and it will also provide the magnetic levitation.

However, the designer didn’t make it clear how it will be possible and the limited details we are provided with is Audi O2 concept combines the past and the future. Though the shape of the car is common and is possible to build but it contains the parts that aren’t available today. From the images, we can make out easily that the concept has got massive front air intakes with oxygen turbines. The concept measures 4950 mm in length, 2050 mm in width and 1120 mm in height and seems too futuristic as it is highly unlikely that we will see anything similar anytime soon.

Renault Fly concept 5

With the advent of technology in the auto sector, there are increasing numbers of cars that boast more power, better handling and, of course, more speed on track than their predecessors. However, if they are more exciting to drive remains questionable. Keeping this thing in mind, Polish designer, Konrad Cholewka, comes up with an exciting concept that not only offers more customizable features but, above all, the ease of driving.

Concept is christened as Renault Fly and was created as a lightweight sports car for his degree project. Renault Fly concept is made to offer the pleasure of driving a true sports car and it uses a base on which some different cars can be made. What makes it standout from the cars currently available in the market are its distinctive features that include use of super lightweight material in its making, low rider’s position and low glazing which makes it a very exciting vehicle to drive.

It also features a frame with exposed components that enables the rider to adjust vehicle as per his/her likings. On the top of this, you can change the form of the vehicle for it features the removable components. For example, if you want to drive a buggy off-road, Renault Fly concept can be converted to suit the purpose. All you need to do is to go to the Renault service station and change the elements like wheel arches, tires, put body and windows off and finally lift up the suspension. But in this case too, the engine, suspension, chassis etc remains the same.

Eduardo Díaz Tostado Personal Folding Urban Vehicle 1

As the city space is increasingly cramped with the number of vehicles increasing on road every day, it is but necessary to have vehicles that occupy less pace on road and are easy to park too. To solve this problem, designers across the world have repeatedly proposed the concept vehicles that are compact, easy to drive through congested roads and fold to park in a minimum space anywhere.

Mexican designer Eduardo Díaz Tostado imagines a vehicle for the year 2040 wherein this problem will be even more gruesome. The vehicle is dubbed as the Personal Folding Urban Vehicle or P.F.U.V. in short and deals with the major problem among every city in future, space.

The PFUV is merely 30% longer than a standard bicycle with the ability to fold itself when it’s not in use, thereby reducing its space occupation to a bare minimum. When the Personal Folding Urban Vehicle is folded, it can be stacked in front of one another. P.F.U.V. is also to reduce the use of car for personal commutes which remains parked the whole day to consume the maximum parking space.

On the other hand, the P.F.U.V. has eco credentials to the core. Powering this ultra futuristic vehicle are electric motors on each wheels to provide the zero emission commutes to one person.  For making the vehicle, the high tech materials, metal ceramics is proposed and the holes in the body structure are strategically located that not only provides maximum strength but also helps keep the weight of the vehicle to a bare minimum.

Glacius Creations' Bugatti Veyron SUV render

As Lamborghini with Urus and Bentley with EXP 9 F are to foray into the SUV market, it remains to be seen how their competitors answer. With the race going on to explore the new markets, it remains to be see who is next to put their challenge forth to claim the vast SUV market pie.

Keeping this thing in mind, Virtual tuner, Glacius Creations, has created what it calls the speculative render of what Bugatti might put forth if it ever takes the proposal to create a Veyron Sports Utility Vehicle on the table. The render doesn’t look that bad either and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that it’s imagination worth commercialization.

The image reveals a big Bugatti Veyron Sports Utility Vehicle that surpasses current market rulers like Range Rover and Porsche Cayenne and even the upcoming SUVs from Lamborghini or for that matter, Bentley.

Talking about the design, the front of the SUV resembles to that of Bugatti Veyron which has been magnified. The rest of the body shape remains identical to a normal SUV. The Bugatti Veyron SUV render seems to propose the five seat layout and is fitted with Vossen Wheels. The designer didn’t provide any powertrain details but we imagine that it will feature an engine that will be outputting at least 1200hp of Bugatti Veyron SS if not more.

onedoorcar-1-600x516

With vehicles undergoing significant revamping and revolutionary tweaks, the automobile industry has unremittingly transmogrified for better as far as users’ convenience needs are concerned. This time, a Russian designer, Alexander Createric has conceptualized a unique OneDoorCar concept that signifies utmost compactness and comfort for users. Designed to be as compact as possible, the passenger vehicle features well trimmed rectangular proportions and renders most space for unprecedented user comfort. While the concept has been proposed for both four and six seater models, the uniquely designed OneDoorCar ensures impressive performance along with its compact dimensions that seamlessly transcend most compact vehicles out there in the industry. onedoorcar-5 However, in terms of its eye-catchy structure, the car flaunts an impressively sturdy yet stylish box-section space-frame chassis with purposive features integrated within. The seating position, nonetheless, remains on a slightly higher position, further enabling the embedded drive train to be slotted in underneath. While the concept looks quite a lot promising for the performance and comfort, the most distinguishing factor remains to be its ‘one door’. Signifying the name, OneDoorCar comes with only one door located at the back of the chassis – endowing the vehicle with a unique look in the segment. Although the model touts to be somewhat taller and wider than Mercedes’ luxurious GL-Class SUV, it seamlessly manages to be highly compact and even shorter than a Smart Fortwo (certainly, scoring a few extra points there). What’s more, the cube-shaped vehicle will enable you to drive smoothly without really taking up too much space on the road. The conventional looking family car can further be parked perpendicular to the kerb for enhanced convenience, which further makes OneDoorCar an ideal vehicle for highly congested urban environments. onedoorcar-4 However, the pricing and availability details of this unique OneDoorCar Concept are yet to be disclosed by Alexander Createric. So, let’s just wait and watch for this cube-shaped vehicle to buzz with its further details in the near future.

Every now and then, we see some insightful and creative designs related to technology and automobiles from around the world, which undeniably seek to make the world a better place to live in than it had been ever before. Very rarely do we see something that is designed for agriculturists alone, something that makes their job easier on day-to-day basis. We came across one such design by Laura Morales Sordo from London, what she calls as “Motocultor Concept”. It looks like a three-wheeler tractor at the first sight, but is much more dextrous and can mechanize a number of processes for farmers from furrowing to harvesting. Did you just say innovative? Yes, it is innovative. Read on to know more about it. Design Inspiration A large number of agriculturists around the world still work with their hands using outdated tools in farming. It is affordable, easy to maintain and multi-purpose machinery such as Motocultor that can help farmers get more out of less manual work. 4120276003_b8b89365fb The technology Motocultor hides most of its tools inside the chassis which are activated through the dashboard. The tools are especially useful in operating multiple rows simultaneously while answering agricultural chores like furrowing, weeding, fertilizing and harvesting. The machinery is specifically useful for replacing manual work required in the case of crop that includes onions, chives, carrots, beets etc. Well, you can use the Motocultor to cultivate any crops you feel like; however, for doing so, you need be quite conversant with the mechanism it runs on. What makes it different? There have been similar designs in the past but Motocultor is more lightweight and versatile. This translates to easier maintenance and cleaning of machinery. The tools it boards are isolated from each other and protrude from within the chassis only when required. As mentioned above, the neat-looking design shows a number of different tools attached to the machinery that can help in harvesting, ploughing, reaping and seeding.

bmwx4-7

The concept After introducing a new concept of a radical sports utility vehicle X6 in 2008, BMW is all set to bring us the son of X6 named as the X4 Concept. Most of the designs of X4 Concept are inspired by its big brother X6, although some of its styling is kept similar to the recent coupe series of BMW. However, with this new X4 concept, BMW is sure to create ripples in the world of automobiles. The inspiration The new concept from BMW is proportionally 183 inches long and with a wheelbase as short as 110.6 inches, it is 75.4 inches wide. With only a height of 63.9 inches, the X4 concept has been made to be quite smaller than X6 proportionally. However, besides being called a new generation SUV, X4 Concept’s size along with the styles also reflects a hint of sporty dynamism. Moreover, the stubby looking overhang along with the fore and aft also provides X4 with a sporty mandate. Also, the rakish rear roofline has been designed to impart the hindquarters with a little tautness while the wheel wells are filled in sufficiently with 21-inch alloys. However, the side air intakes of X4 are purposely kept large in respect with the grille works designed to boost the performance as well as the cooling needs. So, analyzing the overall design, it can be said that BMW has tried to hand X4 a little aggressive intake treatment. The feasibility As the X4 concept is actually still in the stage of a concept right now, so apart from the designs and the styles, the important details about the engine or other engineering facts or performances are still unavailable. However, with the reaction X4 has received for only the designs, it can be assumed that it’s going to earn many performance attribution and various underpinnings after going into production from the other family members of the X series.

b04720066c6f3eb92afc3fe7a908be81 The concept If you want super speed with extravagance luxury, then Lamborghini cars are for you. Lamborghini cars are famous all over the world for their uncompromisingly unique style and beauty and the design of the new Lamborghini Granador doesn’t defy those rules either. It is designed as a super sportscar, which combines both the brand values and their essential lines. The project of Lamborghini Granador is a collaborative creation of Mohammed Hossein Amini Yekta and Lamborghini. It was actually designed during his Masters Program’s first semester of academic year 2011-12 at Milan based Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD). The design, inspiration The main feature of the design of the Granador is displayed in the division created between lower and the upper sections. This division is highlighted through a straight sloppy line underlining this stylishly pointy wedge-shaped silhouette. This same line can also be seen like a symmetry axis with the contours of the side windows being mirrored onto the air intake of the lower part. This distinctive feature clearly reflects some of the designs of the Bertone Stratos Zero Concept of 1970. The upper body has been designed as transparent see-through body, which is distinctly defined, by the clean surfaces, crystalline volumes and sharp edges. According to the designer, this concept was designed with an aim to bring together the various design elements along with the touch of both general sportiness and luxurious soul. The feasibility The overall design of Granador is more focused on keeping it elegant rather than sporty. However, with the unique design of hidden taillights installed behind the blades delivers the entire car an aggressive look with an uncompromising soul. Maintaining their reputation of producing cars of huge impact and elite designs, this Granador stands up to their design criteria and has been predicted to become as famous as other members of the luxurious Lamborghini family. The Lamborghini Granador, due to its unique design, might get Lamborghini’s attention. However, there are little, if not bleak, chances of it seeing the light of the day ever.

Renault-TwinZ-Concept_Ross-Lovegrove-lead-537x397

Renault-TwinZ-Concept_Ross-Lovegrove-lead-537x397 Renault launched its new design strategy back in 2010 under the direction of designer, Laurens van den Acker. The design strategy cantered around the concept of cycle of life. Each concept car represented a step of human life. The first one named, DeZir was about falling in love, Captur symbolized exploring the world, R-Space was about starting a family and Frendzy, the work phase of life. Twin’Z is the fifth concept car in this line that symbolizes fun and play. Renault collaborated with famous designer, Ross Lovegrove to create this concept. The Beauty Twin’Z is clear-coated in sparkling Blue that gives it a velvety matte-gloss look. Lovegrove has given a minimalist interior design that aims on cutting down weight and maximizing the space. The city car boards the pillarless concept, which in turn gives it a singular landscape. The seats are upholstered in 3D woven textiles that are waterproof and flame resistant. The concept of 3D printing is translated to the rims, designed by using parametric modelling. The lighting in the car draws its design heavily from the organic elements and boards different LED panels to do so. The overall effect seems to give Tron-like touch to the vehicle. The Beast The rear-wheel drive comes with a rear mounted electric motor that is powered by lithium batteries capable of generating up to 96 volts. This translates to a power of 68 hp and a torque 226 Nm. Twin’Z, being a city car, doesn’t boast of power, but aims at being efficient. The Thrill The concept car’s top speed clocks at 130 Km/h (80.7 mph). It boasts of its aerodynamic design and comes with a high waistline and low stance. Its 18-inch low-profile glowing-green wheels are pushed out to the corners. What’s Different? Its funky design, neon-infused interiors, and stunning visual features make it one of the most attractive concept cars. The overall car is as much of an art form as a vehicle that aims at maximizing the footprint.

Elegance yacht, Vey manifests flapping lines of a scarf

001 main 700px

001 main 700px The concept A designer from Korea has come up with a concept yacht inspired by knot of a scarf. Dubbed as Vey, it is an elegance yacht that embeds style into design while also taking into account the limitations of such design and coming up with a feasible version of such yacht. What differentiate it from normal yachts are its two elegantly designed flaps in the rear that curve inwards. The yacht looks like a creature with wings that belongs to the sea itself. The bottom of the yacht lights up in the night or evenings with red sky producing a mood lamp air. The backside of the yacht is sheltered by its flaps and provides the area for recreation where one can sunbath, dance or dine. The deck boards driver’s seat and resting table spaces beneath which lies the residential space. The yacht takes care of water drainage so that water can be easily flushed out of it. The Inspiration The designer JungJunPark took his inspiration from the tail of knot of a scarf. He divided the tail into two roads attached on one end and added more curvature to design to make it more elegant. A touch of flapping side of scarf is added to the sides using flapping line as a character. The overall result is a winding structure that provides elegance as well as shelter to the rear of the yacht. The two flaps look somewhat like gull wings and an extra dimension to the overall design. The feasibility Vey takes its inspiration from nature and manifests the concept into something that seems feasible for production. It certainly distinguishes itself from the pack with its luring design. Moreover, Vey shows us a glimpse into the future when yachts will board gull-wings and transform from a sea-borne to air-borne transport, adding a whole new dimension to it.

To reduce the usage of fossil fuels, there are many boat builders who are now concentrating on creating solar-powered sea vessels. These solar-powered boats are a cleaner and greener alternative to polluting fuels. Most of these boats are equipped with solar panels and batteries that convert sun’s energy into power. Even if these boats are not suitable for long ocean trips, these can be wonderfully used for small trips in lakes and rivers. Check out a few cost-effective and innovative solar-powered boats that are helping to reduce the carbon footprint of humankind. thb910583351_1 1.Osprey: Crafted by the Tamarack Lake Electric Boat Company, this 32-foot long solar boat can carry around 25 individuals. Its solar panels absorb the sunlight and its batteries store this energy to transfer to two electric engines. Osprey is a perfect solution for people’s lake visits. This green boat is also completely safe for the environment. Sun21 with Manhattan Skyline 2.sun21: This 45.9-foot long catamaran has a canopy-style roof that carries 48 photovoltaic cells to collect sunlight. This energy is then transferred to a device placed in a cabin. The deck’s underside has storage batteries to store this energy. The sun21 boat can accommodate large groups on excursions. Around six people can also find the place to sleep in this boat. One of its hulls has a kitchen and the other has a bathroom. Solar Sailor Cruise 560x420 3.Solar Sailor: This passenger ferry runs on the waters of Sydney Harbor, Australia. Solar Sailor is not only powered by the energy of sun, but can also be run on wind, diesel or battery. By the use of the Solar Wing technology, this boat captures the sun’s energy for wind power, as well as for electricity. Under this technology, the wing movement is controlled by a computer. These wings are able to capture an optimum amount of sunlight. This is a very clean and green boat that runs without fumes and vibrations. TÛRANOR-PlanetSolar-Catamaran1 4.Planet Solar: Constructed by the Knierim Yacht Club in Germany, this is probably the first and biggest solar boat that has been running on waters around the world.
